Around seven years ago we were contacted by Tim as he was thinking of making a trip to Burma to visit some of the places his father John and his grand parents and family lived and worked. Liz (Betty) and I were also planning a visit but at a later date. 

After exchanging a few emails it was decided that we should get together somewhere and compare notes. The 'get-together' expanded somewhat with Nikki, Sarah-Jane, Claudia, Tiffany, various off-springs, spouses, Tim & Michael, as well as ourselves gathering for a long drawn out lunch.

Tim's daily blog, as he travelled with his mate from place to place was like being there with him. It was full of amusement, adventure and at times left the reader in awe at the sheer scale of in-depth writing Tim was capable of.

Liz And I went the following year and thanks to Tim's groundwork, our visit was a breeze.
